While many Bat Poop sites don’t mention turtles as a pest –Turtles at times could be a problem on your property. Learn some traps that you can make to find these turtles.
Sometimes turtles can be somewhat of a pestinfestation. The population of turtles in a pond for example can grow out of control carrying over all the fish. You may come across turtles in your garden and aren’t sure what to do together. There are particular types like snapping turtles that you might not want around your lawn since they could hurt your children or your pets.
This is a way of catching and releasing them versus killing them. As these are home made, they can help you to save money on the process.
The first sort of trap you can make is but digging a hole and placing a bucket into the floor level with the dirt around it. Throw some worms or dead fish indoors and the turtles will be attracted to this. They’ll fall in the bucket and become stuck.
Another edition of this trap involves using a ramp the turtle can grow up so that you don’t have to dig. Get a container and set the same worms and dead fish inside. Use a bit of wood to produce a ramp.
Make certain to come back and monitor your traps every day. If you don’t, these turtles will probably starve in your absence which is not the objective of the trap and release mindset.
Everything you do with the turtle next is your choice. Just note that letting them move from the general area which they will probably find their way back to a location since that’s where much of the food source is for them. You may have to release them farther away from your home and property should you not want the turtle to come back again.
